Jonesboro, the area’s largest metro area, features a large healthcare sector, with two major hospitals providing services for patients and many job opportunities, with St. Bernard’s hospital being rated the best place to work in the region. 

The region’s low cost of living is one of the primary reasons many people consider moving here. Overall costs of living such as utilities, housing, food cost, and gas prices are much lower than in other metro regions in the state. Home costs in particular are much lower than the state and national average, making Jonesboro and the surrounding areas a great place to move!

Many area schools offer an excellent K-12 education, with some districts consistently scoring in the top 5% of districts in the state. Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, is one of the larger universities in the state, provides many degree programs, such as nursing, agriculture, and education, as well as caters highly to off campus students with many classes offered online or on one of many of their satellite campuses. The area also has many vocational schools and community colleges such as Black River Tech, ASUN, and Arkansas Northeast College. The region’s largest metro area, Jonesboro, has a large healthcare industry, with two major hospitals that serve the region’s healthcare needs, St Bernards, and NEA Baptist.
